I’ve spent more weekends under the stars than I can count, and if there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s this — the best stories always start around a campfire.

I’m no “expert” with a clipboard, just a bloke who loves getting outdoors. Over the years I’ve burnt my fair share of snags, bogged the ute more times than I’d like to admit, and tested just about every bit of camping gear you can imagine. Some of it’s brilliant, some of it’s rubbish — and I reckon it’s worth sharing which is which.

Beyond the Campfire is my place to yarn about all things outdoors — from camping and caravanning to fishing, hiking, 4WDing, and cooking up a decent feed under the stars. I’ll share the trips I’ve loved, the gear I trust, and the little tips that make the difference between a rough night out and a cracking adventure.
